AvtoVAZ cancels production of Lada Xray over imported parts

MOSCOW, Sep 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ has no plans to restart production of the Lada Xray model as the share of imported components in it is too high, the company’s spokesperson Sergei Ilyinsky said on Thursday.

“The share of imported components is too high in Xray, it is the least localized car,” he said.

AvtoVAZ CEO Maxim Sokolov said previously that the company planned to restore production of almost all the cars that were suspended due to sanctions in 2023.
